Gianna Martinengo - Knight of Merit of the Italian Republic 2011

Upon the decision of Giorgio Napolitano, the President of the Italian Republic on the 11th of October 2011 Gianna Martinengo, the founder of DidaelKTS srl and DidaekTS Ltd, and Donne e Tecnologie was honored with “Knight of Merit of the Italian Republic - Cavaliere al merito della Repubblica Italiana" at the Congress Centre of the Province of Milan. This award represents a historical and moral value of the Nation that rewards dedication, consistency, commitment and morality in the conduct of their own work.

Gianna Martinengo is founder of the annual "Women & Technologies ® 2008-2015" event in Milano which in 2011 will celebrate its 4th Edition.

Women & Technologies ® 2008-2015 offers a vision of the relationship between women and technology as a tool to identify and promote female talent in the areas of research, technological development and innovation.

WomenTech is a complex series of events: a conference, a network, an International Award and the FutureCamp, disseminated through a media plan spreading communication on the circuit Telesia,  the Milan subway and the airport of Milan Linate and Malpensa.

Women & Technologies ® is sponsored by ' Women and Technology Association , registered as a regional women's organizations in Lombardy, which was founded at the initiative of a network of professionals, experts in various fields, engaged in the business world and in public and private organizations. Women & Technologies ® aggregates, also around it a dense network of partners, institutional and private investors , who believe, with us, the value of this initiative.


The Conference " Women & Technologies 2011 ®  focuses this year on e-Health:
Bio and Nanotech " with particular emphasis on Innovation in Health, technologies applied to both the early diagnosis of diseases and the treatment of rare illnesses . An important section of the conference will be devoted to the role of women in the professions of health research and technology. The three round tables that will make the 2011 conference will be devoted to the following themes:

·         "New frontiers for diagnosis and treatment: biomarkers, imaging and robotics"

·         "Rare diseases and neglected"

·         "The value of women"


The International Prize "Women & Technology ® 2011 " w
ill be awarded to "visionary women" who, through their work in research, in government or in the Enterprise, were able to "invent the future", combining innovation and technology.


FUTURECAMP: the jobs of tomorrow
is an interactive encounter for young people interested in finding out which road to take to enter the world of research and innovation. Entry is a unique opportunity to connect with people who work in these areas, which can provide a testimony on their professional experience and help to guide career choices and career.
