Italian Female Tech Innovators Awarded in Bari

The 24th of June District Information Science and Technology - DIST, the Ladies Committee of Confindustria Bari Plurals - Bat and Puglia ( Apulia with other Provincial Committees ) organized a very well attended event ITWIIN 2010. The event has also benefited from the contribution of ' ARTS ( Regional Agency for Technology and Innovation ) , Councillor for Equality of the Puglia Region , CNR, CIHEAM - IAMB , Telpress , ITALGEST , FCRP (Fondazione Cassa Risparmio Puglia). The project was sponsored by the EU , the Ministries of Economic Development, Labour and Social Affairs , local governments and universities.

The number one act of the event was handing out out the Best Italian inventor 2010 Award to , ANGELA SERPE researcher at the University of Cagliari and co- founder of the spin off company "3R Metals" has developed a novel process for the recycling o f not used raw materials from wastes (in particular , recovery of precious metals such as Palladium from hi - tech waste such as computers , mobile phones etc.).
In contrast to the conventional technologies used to recover the precious metal is applied without the use of high temperatures.

The Best Innovative Italian Award 2010 went to Dr.Carla Ferreri, Senior Researcher of CNR in Bologna and founder of the spin off "Lipinutragen" , who presented the project "Profile lipidomics of cell membranes: a molecular approach applied to human health. "
Three special prize awards were handed out:

THE PRIZE AWARD - Best Italian Researcher in the United States (Established by the Italian American Business Association "Bridges to Italy " , Los Angeles ) went to STEFANIA MONDELLO for a project focused on ' analysis and study of the correlation of biomarkers with clinical data, with the aim of providing the first reliable blood test for diagnosing , monitoring and prognostic evaluation of brain damage .

PRIZE - DIST Telpress for communication DEBORA UP, Researcher at the Politecnico di Torino , active in the treatment of pollutants ( diesel emissions , catalytic combustion of methane, catalytic filters , reduction of nano particles, etc. . .)

Recognition AIWECA - the Award for an Innovative Professional Women in the Euro -Mediterranean Cooperation in Agriculture) to SANAA ZEBACK , after a training and research spent at the IAMB Valenzano , currently working in Morocco on international cooperation projects in agriculture innovation.
