Competence Pool for Product Development and Industrial Design October 25, 2006 8:50 AM                   At the opening event of Interieur 06, Flemish Minister of Economy, Mme Fientje Moerman announced that Kortrijk will become the Competence Pool for Product Development and Industrial Design. This means that companies, service SME’s, specialized high schools and knowledge centres will be united to strenghten the position of the Flemish SME’s.

The renovated building houses offices, a cafe, a high-tech videoconference room funded by VISP, 2 meeting rooms and 5 classrooms.

Eu-project NENSI about Service Incubator Centres March 10, 2006 4:29 PM The EU project NENSI has been finalised at the beginning of March. During this project, with partners from Twente ( near Enschede ) and Kortrijk, this Northern European Network for Service Incubators  has developed service support desks for young entrepreneurs.

Study visit to Idea Stores London May 11, 2006 1:04 PM                         For the study about the combination of Library and LLL in Kortrijk, an inventory of best practices from Belgium and abroad has been made.One good example of this synergy has been found in the Idea Stores of London.

New open learning centre in Kortrijk February 8, 2006 8:58 AM Students of the Provincial Technical Institute in Kortrijk can improve their learning process thanks to the new open learning centre and the electronical learning environment with 36 computers and 30 places for individual work. Stuents don't get traditional lessons, but can work individually under guidance.

Visit of Ministre of Culture to Kortrijk November 8, 2005 3:28 PM At the end of October the Flemish minister of Culture visited various cultural initiatives in Kortrijk, such as the Buda Island, the museum 1302 that will be opened to the public next year and Community Centre Overleie.
